Do the same task the same way each time with a skill

Why skills exist

Some tasks come back again and again: a client brief in the same format, a weekly report, a check of a document against your house rules. When each person asks Sasha in their own words, the results are different each time.

A skill is a packaged way of doing a task that Sasha can run. It holds the instructions for the task, so Sasha does the task the same way each time, for each person who runs it.

Who can run and build skills

• Admin and staff run skills. They also build new skills and change the skills that your organisation has.
• Members cannot run skills, in the Sasha web interface or from Claude.

Skills from Claude

Admin and staff can also run skills from Claude, after they connect Claude to Sasha (Connect Claude to your Sasha).

• Not every skill is offered to Claude. Each skill's settings decide this, and some kinds of skill are offered by default. Ask your Sasha administrator which skills are offered.
• A skill runs in the background. Claude asks Sasha to start the skill, and then checks back for the result. Most runs take between 1 and 10 minutes.
• A skill can save documents. The result can include documents that the skill saved in your knowledge. Claude can then read them.

A member's connection cannot run skills, because the member role cannot run skills.

Skills and apps

A skill does a task when someone runs it. An app is a small application built on your knowledge, inside Sasha, that people open and use. An app can keep its own records. For apps, see Use and manage apps built on your knowledge.
