Use and manage apps built on your knowledge
What an app is
Some work needs a form or a screen, not a chat: a time sheet where your team records hours, or a list that people add to each week. An app is a small application built on your knowledge, inside Sasha.
An app can keep its own records. Some records are shared by everyone who uses the app. Others belong to the person who made them.
In the Sasha web interface, the apps that you can use are listed under Apps in the sidebar.
Who can use and who can change an app
Each person has one of two levels of access to each app:
- Use. The person opens the app and works with its records.
- Manage. An admin or staff account can also change the app itself.
When Sasha finds a new app, Sasha gives manage access to every admin and staff account that exists at that time. A person who joins later, and every member, can use an app only when they are given access to it. If you need an app, ask your Sasha administrator.
A member can use an app but can never change the app itself. Members cannot sign in to the Sasha web interface, so a member uses apps from Claude. For what each role can do, see Who can do what in Sasha.
Changes to records: who asks you first
When the AI changes an app's records for you, how you are asked depends on where you work.
- In a chat in the Sasha web interface, the AI is told to ask you first. Sasha itself does not hold the change, so read the AI's question before you answer.
- From Claude, you are asked to confirm in Claude. If Claude cannot ask you, Sasha does not make the change.
A change that you make yourself, with a click inside the app, needs no extra confirmation.
Apps from Claude
After you connect Claude to Sasha, Claude can open an app that you have access to, read its records and, when Claude can ask you to confirm, change them. Claude reaches only the apps that you can use in Sasha.
Admin and staff accounts with manage access can also change the app itself from Claude. These changes take effect at once.
An app's records are kept apart from your documents, which Sasha keeps in projects (How Sasha organises your knowledge into projects and documents). For the other things that Claude can do with Sasha, see What Claude can do with Sasha.
Questions
Why can I not see an app that a colleague uses?
Each person needs access to each app. Admin and staff accounts that exist when an app is added get access. Everyone else gets access only when it is given to them. Ask your Sasha administrator.
Why does Claude ask me before it changes a record in an app?
From Claude, Sasha asks you to confirm each change to an app's records that Claude makes for you. Sasha makes the change only after you agree. In a chat in the Sasha web interface, the AI is told to ask you first, but Sasha does not hold the change.
Claude says that it cannot confirm the change. What do I do?
Sasha did not make the change. If you have an admin or staff account, make the change yourself in the app in the Sasha web interface. Otherwise, ask an admin or staff colleague.
Can a member change how an app works?
No. Only admin and staff accounts with manage access can change an app itself.
