Answer a question from our own policies and procedures, with citations

What you get

A short, direct answer to a question about one of your own rules, such as a spending limit or a deadline. Under the answer, Sasha quotes the exact sentences from your policies and procedures and names the document each one comes from.

If two documents give different answers, Sasha says so and names both. You see the conflict instead of a guess.

Before you start

You need access to the projects that hold your policies and procedures. From Claude, Sasha searches only what you can reach, so another person can get a different answer to the same question. For what Sasha is and what Sasha holds, see What Sasha is and what Sasha holds.

Ask one question at a time, in the words your staff would use.

From Claude

Connect Claude to your Sasha first (Connect Claude to your Sasha). Then choose Answer a question from our own policies and procedures from the prompt menu and type your question.

What Sasha does

  1. Searches the projects you can reach for policies and procedures that cover your question.
  2. Reads the documents that match, and any related document they point to.
  3. Gives a direct answer in one to three sentences, using only the rules in your documents.
  4. Quotes the sentences the answer relies on, with the document and project for each.
  5. Says whether any documents disagree, and names both when they do.
  6. Says plainly when no policy covers the question.

Check the result

  • Open the named document and confirm the quoted sentence is there, word for word.
  • If Sasha reports a disagreement, ask the owner of the policy which document is correct, and fix the other one.
  • If Sasha finds no policy, the gap is useful too: it shows a rule your organisation has not yet written down.
  • For a broader question with no single right answer, use Find what we already know about a topic, with sources.

Questions

What if two of our documents give different answers?

Sasha says so, quotes both and names both documents. Sasha does not choose one for you. Ask the owner of the policy which one is correct, and update the other.

What happens if we have no policy on the subject?

Sasha says that no policy was found in the projects you can reach. Sasha does not fill the gap with general advice or with what other organisations do.

Why did Sasha miss a policy that I know exists?

Sasha finds documents by the words in them. From Claude, Sasha searches only the projects you can reach. Ask again with the words the policy uses, or name the document or the project.

Does this change any documents?

No. This recipe only reads.
